Starting August 2013 ALD Automotive, one of the referenced players on the operational leasing market, holds the SRAC certification for its environmental management system. The company is one of the few of its kind in Romania to have an ISO 14001 certificate which ranks ALD Automotive as a consistent provider of sustainable mobility services.
The ISO 14001:2005 certification proves that ALD Automotive has implemented and maintained a series of measures which ensure the minimisation of the company’s actions on the environment. To mention a few, ALD Automotive had to implement seamless processes for the monthly monitoring of water, energy, gas and fuel consumption, reducing exhaust emissions and noise and entrusting used tires and old accumulator batteries to authorized recycling services.
In order to maintain the good development of the environmental management system, ALD Automotive has set specific goals for 2013 such as: continuous improvement of environmental performance, preventing the environment contamination as a result of the activities within the organization, training all employees regarding environmental issues, reducing the impact on soil and groundwater, thorough management of the recoverable waste product and protecting the staff and environment by reducing the noise impact.
The environmental issues and social responsibility have always been important concerns for the company. Thus, ALD Automotive is involved in several eco initiatives such as the ecological disposal program of used tires belonging to end of contract vehicles or awareness activities for its employees. The company also monitors and further reports within the Group its actions with potential environmental impact: resource consumption (energy, water, paper), the environmental pollution resulting from business travel (mileage, fuel consumption data), etc. In addition, as defensive driving has a long term ecological impact, ALD Automotive has developed a complete defensive driving program for its customers, encouraging them to become environmentally responsible drivers.
This certification comes soon after the ISO 9001:2008 standard, obtained earlier this year, which guarantees the quality of the ALD Automotive services. It attests that the company's management system is highly competitive, constantly oriented to offer high quality services and continuously fulfil customers' requests. With the new ISO 14001 certification, ALD Automotive strengthens its customer excellence by adding the environmental component to the quality of its services.

Operational in Romania since 2005, ALD Automotive is the subsidiary of BRD – Groupé Société Générale and the ALD Automotive group. The company provides full service operational leasing by ensuring financing and a complete range of management services for vehicle fleets. ALD Automotive launched officially in May 2010 under the ALD Carmarket brand, the online closed bidding platform designed for the promotion and sale of the second hand vehicles returned at the end of the operational leasing contracts.
