ALD Automotive Romania, one of the most important players on the operational leasing market in Romania, recently organized an Eco Driving event for clients. With the support from our partners: Badsi, Civitronic (lek3.co), Ford Romania, Honda Trading, Porsche Romania, Premium Auto, Proleasing Motors, Renault Commercial, Toyota Romania and Volvo Romania, this 5th annual edition allowed clients to discover and test drive over 17 of the latest electric and hybrid car models available on the market.
"One of the current trends, amongst the market and our customers, is to own a car fleet with a low impact on the environment. The latest statistic* show that in the first six months of 2019, electric and hybrid cars reached 3.5% of total deliveries in Romania. Therefore, we can say that our country is supporting the eco trend at the European level, where electric and plug-in hybrid car sales have reached 7.1% in the first quarter of this year**. At ALD Automotive we are promoting the greening of the car fleets, and through this kind of events we encourage our customers to choose the electric and hybrid vehicle models for their fleets, but also to promote an ecological and defensive driving style", said Cătălin Olteanu, commercial director, ALD Automotive.
This initiative fully supports ALD Automotive’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy globally. The Group has ambitious plans to further reduce fleet fuel consumption and CO2 emissions and aims to increase the number of electric and hybrid vehicles in its global fleet.
ALD Automotive’s global fleet CO2 emissions have been constantly decreasing on a global level since 2011. 2018 year-end figures reflect an average CO2 emission of 119 g/km, which is 3g/km improvement in comparison with 2016 running fleet. The goal of the company is to reduce the average carbon footprint to a maximum 110g/km in the medium term.
As an active player in preparing the future of sustainable mobility, ALD Automotive actively promotes innovative and environmentally friendly technologies to support companies in implementing greening policies for their car fleets, while also providing a viable cost-cutting alternative.
