2015 marks the 10th consecutive year of growth for ALD Automotive

ALD Automotive, one of the most important players on the operational leasing market in Romania, concluded 2015 with a turnover of 30.5 million euro*. Last year marked the 10th anniversary on the local market for the operational leasing company and a general growth reflected in both the fleet size and the number of customers.

By comparison to 2014, the fleet increased by 6%, reaching 8,876 vehicles in 2015. Regarding the customer portfolio, last year it increased by 26%, reaching a number of 336 active clients from companies operating in various industries, such as the pharmaceutical industry, financial services, FMCG or telecommunications. 80% of the contracts are full service operational leasing contracts, while 20% are for fleet management. The largest investment made by ALD automotive in 2015 targeted the fleet expansion by approximately 1,800 cars.

The upward trend was supported by the diversification of the portfolio per customer segments and the development of new services and initiatives dedicated to customer mobility needs. Last year, ALD Automotive approached new market niches, namely the SMEs’ niche, and strengthened its pioneering position in innovative and customized services. The company created the first White Label operational leasing product on the Romanian market, delivered the first fleet of electric vehicles in an operational leasing system to a top client on the local market and officially delivered the first hybrid vehicle from one of the most important car manufactures.

Another successful business segment is ALD Carmarket, the online bidding platform for used vehicles. Since its launch in March 2010 and until the end of 2015, the dealers and vendors had purchased online over 7,000 vehicles returned at the end of the contracts. Last year, 1,428 cars were sold, with 91% of the transactions being conducted online. Thus, the ALD Carmarket platform became an important channel for selling used cars, gaining the trust of an extended network of buyers that subscribe for online offers for the auctioned vehicles.

The company development strategy for 2016 includes, first of all, the focus on customers and on the constant improvement of the provided services’ quality. Secondly, given the technological development, the company will also focus on developing new apps and platforms in support of fleet managers and vehicle users. This year, the company with continue to support the initiatives for environmental protection by means of ecological and defensive classes provided for the users and various actions for “greening” the vehicle fleets belonging to the clients.
