ALD Automotive, one of the most experienced players on the operational leasing market in Romania, ended 2013 with a turnover of almost 30 million Euro and a fleet of 7,280 vehicles, consolidating its position on the market with an estimated market share of 17% and registering the 8th consecutive year of constant growth.
Despite the general contraction of the market, ALD Automotive’s client portfolio increased in 2013, reaching 257 companies active in fields such as pharmaceuticals, FMCG, insurance or telecom. For these clients, a total number of 7,280 vehicles were managed by ALD Automotive in 2013, out of which 84% were in the operational leasing system and 16% were contracted under fleet management.
The used car sales through ALD Automotive’s web bidding platform marked a milestone in 2013 when the 4,000th used vehicle was sold online through ALD Carmarket. Online bidding remained during 2013 the main sales channel: out of the total 1,332 second hand cars sold last year, 92% were online buys. A new maximum was reached regarding the sale to foreign buyers, which increased to 20% from the total sales in 2013.
At international level, the ALD Automotive Group reached in 2013 the symbolic milestone of one million vehicles on the road, with a fleet of 1,008,840 vehicles on 31st December and annual growth of 5.6%.
In 2014 ALD Automotive will remain close to its customers in offering TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) optimization solutions and cost saving plans. The company estimates to add another 1,000 vehicles to its fleet by the end of the year and plans new services for its customers, as well as developing the ALD mobile application recently introduced on the market.
