ALD Automotive celebrated 10 years dedicated to innovation alongside its customers and partners: the Titi Aur Academy, Toyota, Lexus, BMW, Renault, Peugeot, Tiriac Auto - Mitsubishi and Schneider Electric. The operational leasing company has strengthened its position as an initiator in the world of electric mobility through a unique event designed to present the electric and hybrid vehicles available on the market and promote the benefits of defensive and ecologic driving, through workshops created together with the Titi Aur Academy.
“On the occasion of this special event we once again prove the innovative nature of ALD Automotive. We are the first operational leasing company actively involved in promoting the automotive technologies that protect the environment and we want our customers to understand the advantages of having electric and hybrid fleets. We wanted to share with our clients the international expertise concerning to urban mobility and we were pleasantly surprised to see the high level of interest for attending this event during these new types of vehicles could be tested in different traffic conditions. Through this kind of events we wish to show the benefits of new, less polluting new technologies, we want to encourage the development of the operational leasing market and, in this way, we hope to generate a reaction from the authorities in building infrastructure.” says Catalin Olteanu, Commercial Director ALD Automotive.
For one day the attendees tested, on the circuit within Titi Aur Academy, 12 models of electric and hybrid vehicles provided by ALD Automotive partners. The electric models provided were: Renault Twizy, Renault ZOE, BMW i3, Mitsubishi I-MIEV and Peugeot iOn. Regarding the hybrid range, the customers could test spectacular models as: BMW i8, BMW X5 plug-in hybrid, Toyota Auris Hybrid, Toyota Yaris Hybrid, Lexus IS 300h, Peugeot 3008 Hybrid and Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Moreover, the new headquarters of the Titi Aur Academy provided the guests with unique experiences: testing skidding simulators using vehicles with free back wheels, the only vehicle in Romania with two steering wheels, rollover and impact simulators, a demo of a defensive and eco driving course, braking, acceleration and skills testing, etc.
During its 10 years on the operational leasing market, ALD Automotive has been actively involved in the innovation of the fleet management system and greening the auto fleets; it was among the first companies to offer defensive and eco driving courses for fleet managers. Therefore, through an exclusive partnership with the Titi Aur Academy, over 1,100 users of ALD Automotive vehicles were instructed to adopt a safer, environmental friendly driving style. They improved their driving behaviour, reduced fuel and maintenance costs.
With 15 years of experience in defensive driving, Titi Aur is one of the most famous instructors in this field and has trained more than 25,000 students, along with his team of 12 instructors. The Titi Aur Academy was founded in 2007 and its team members are current or former pilots or co-pilots with experience in rally championships.
