ALD Automotive announces the appointment of Shane Dowling as their new General Manager of ALD Automotive Romania, effective September 1st. In parallel, Mr. Dowling will continue to maintain the position of Regional Director of ALD Automotive for South-East Europe being in charge of coordinating the activity of four subsidiaries: Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey and Greece.
With over 20 years’ experience in automotive and operational leasing industries, Shane Dowling already fulfilled his mandate as General Manager of ALD Automotive Romania during 2011 – 2016. Afterwards, he was promoted as Regional Director for South-East Europe, while also occupying the role of CEO of ALD Automotive Turkey.
On his return to Romania, Shane Dowling will continue the process of digitalizing client and partners’ solutions, the development of internal platforms, while also focusing on the high standard satisfaction rate of clients and company employees. One of the key objective of his new mandate in ALD Automotive is to remain a market leader in sustainable solutions and mobility services. The company actively promotes innovative and environmentally friendly technologies in order to support companies in implementing greening policies for their car fleets.

Shane Dowling, short bio
Shane joined the ALD Automotive Group in September 2006 as International Sales Manager and was promoted to Head of International Sales in 2010. In early 2011 he moved to Romania and assumed the position of General Manager of the local ALD Automotive entity. In 2016 Shane was promoted Regional Director for South-East Europe and CEO of ALD Automotive Turkey as of September 1st.
He has been working in the motor industry for over 20 years and previous to joining the ALD Automotive Group in 2006 he held senior positions in Ireland as General Manager of Johnson and Perrott Fleet Services and Sales and Marketing Executive of Mitsubishi Motors Ireland. Shane is a Marketing Graduate of the Marketing Institute of Ireland and is 49 years old.
